At Tecumseh North, students are involved in project-based learning. Third grade has been working on a special project—to create the first kite festival where family and friends can gather to learn all about kites and enjoy the healthy activity of flying kites.
For the first stage of the project, students brainstormed ideas and activities for the festival. They decided to include information about the history of kites, making kites, and the science of flying kites. Students collaborated in groups to share ideas and new learning.
For the event, students created a PowerPoint presentation and brochures to share their learning experiences. A song and dance was the prelude to a great evening.
